From the youngest to the oldest – the organizers of the triathlon weekend in Poznań have prepared attractions for everyone. You can cheer actively and even win… a world championship.

The Rowerkowe World Championships powered by Sportano.pl is an event with several years of tradition. In this “discipline,” almost anyone can become a champion. What you need are strong legs and… a good sense of humor. Competitors – adults – race a distance of about one hundred meters on mini bikes provided by Sportano.pl.

The competition rules are very simple. In the qualifying stage, athletes start in pairs against the clock. The best sixteen from the qualifiers move on to the knockout stage, where they are paired again in a system: first vs. sixteenth, second vs. fifteenth, and so on. The loser of each pair is eliminated, and the racing continues until the final and the battle for 3rd place. The Rowerkowe World Championships will start on Saturday at 15:00. Registration will take place on site, at the Spire on the grounds of the Poznań International Fair.

Night Run Poznań

A day earlier, on Friday at 22:00, the Night Run Poznań will begin. This is a five-kilometer run that opens the IRONMAN weekend. The route of the Poznań “five” runs along Grunwaldzka, Przybyszewskiego, and Bukowska streets. The wide and flat roads are perfect for fast racing, so we can expect strong times. The first runners should reach the finish line about 15 minutes after the start.

We start late enough for the air to cool down, which is another factor that helps fast running. The streets have good surfaces, there are no big climbs, so everyone can push for a good result here.

Participants of Night Run Poznań will receive a headlamp in their race pack. This way, everyone can light their own path, while hundreds of glowing lamps on the runners’ heads will create a unique atmosphere of a night race. The organizers have also prepared dedicated shirts, which will be available for purchase at the store right after collecting the race packs.

A Village with Attractions Not Only for Athletes

On Saturday, just after 10:00, the triathlon village will open with trade stands and numerous attractions prepared by the event’s partners. Among them will be the zone of the Polish Paralympic Committee. Athletes will explain the differences between classic competitions and those in which Paralympians compete. Visitors will be able to learn about disciplines such as para-rowing, para-skiing, para-archery, and para-canoeing. You will also be able to experience firsthand how challenging it is to overcome obstacles in a wheelchair or to walk with a cane and blindfold.

At noon, the children’s races will begin. The youngest (ages 3–4) competing in Pho3nix IRONKIDS Poznań will race over a 200-meter distance. The oldest children (ages 13–14) will face a course of 1,400 meters. All routes have been planned within the grounds of the Poznań International Fair.

Musical Cheering

Sunday is the most important day of the triathlon weekend in Poznań. On this day, both Enea 5150 Poznań and Enea IRONMAN 70.3 Poznań will take place. Everything will begin at Lake Kierskie and finish at the Poznań International Fair. Along the way, however, athletes will be cheered on in specially prepared fan zones. And as if that wasn’t enough, the organizers have also invited supporters to join the fun through a city game.

Musical cheering points in Poznań are a completely new idea and a break from tradition. Athletes will be accompanied by a string quartet performing classical pieces. It will be something different. On top of that, the fans will not only cheer the athletes on but also take part in the experience themselves. A fantastic clash of two worlds.

Fans who want to take part in the game will need to collect special maps from the information point. Then, at each of the three marked locations, they will have to collect stamps, and finally, with the full set, return to the information point to claim their prizes.
