Participants of this year’s Enea IRONMAN 70.3 Poznań will finish on the stadium pitch. Fans will sit in the stands. The triathlon village will be located in the area around the stadium.
This is a complete revolution. Until now, participants of Enea IRONMAN 70.3 Poznań finished at the Poznań International Fair. Now the organizers have chosen a place that is one of the symbols of sport in Poznań. Enea Stadion is the home of Lech Poznań, the current Polish Champion. During matches, more than 30,000 fans regularly sit in the stands. This is where the final part of the run course and the race finish line will be located.
This is a completely new quality. There has never been a finish line like this in Poland before. We know how important Enea Stadion is for the people of Poznań. Now this football temple is opening up to triathlon. We are excited about how many new possibilities this gives us as race organizers. I am sure that both fans and the participants will benefit from it, especially as the athletes have never had a chance to run on the Lech Poznań stadium pitch before.

For the company that manages the stadium, this is also a new opening. Until now, the venue has been used only by football players. From time to time, concerts by music stars are also held there. The route of the Poznań marathon and half marathon also passed through the stadium. However, there has never been a triathlon there, and even more so, a race finish line. Rafał Wrzeszcz, President of Enea Stadion, spoke about this during the press conference.

I am sure that IRONMAN will become a regular part of the calendar of the most important events held at our stadium, inspiring new generations to be active, brave and to push their own limits. This year’s race around the stadium will also be accompanied by many attractive events and side activities, which will fill Enea Stadion with special energy, sports emotions and an atmosphere of celebration. A fantastic atmosphere is guaranteed. IRONMAN events always bring an explosion of emotions. For professional athletes, it is a fight for results and a place at championship-level races. For many amateurs, it is a great chance to compete on the same course as the best triathletes. A very large group are those who registered for the race to overcome their own limits and weaknesses. For each of these people, reaching the finish line is a perfect reason for an explosion of joy or tears of emotion.
A village for everyone
The emotions at Enea Stadion will start already on Saturday, when the children’s races, Pho3nix IRONKIDS, begin. Their routes will be set around the stadium pitch. In the area around the stadium, a triathlon village will be created with a large expo zone and attractions prepared by sponsors and partners. The largest family zone was announced during the press conference by Berenika Ratajczak, spokesperson for Enea, the title sponsor of the event.
Enea, which has been the title sponsor of the Poznań event for five years, will also prepare a special Family Zone and Expo Zone at Enea Stadion this year. Participants, including the youngest ones, will be able to enjoy, among other things, a relaxation zone and many additional attractions. The organizers announce that more details will be shared as the event gets closer. The connection of two important sponsorship projects of the Enea Group in one space is also gaining extra meaning. Moving the finish line and the triathlon village to Enea Stadion is a special moment for us and a symbolic connection of two strong sponsorship projects of the Enea Group. Thanks to this, we are creating a new and even more attractive space for sports emotions, both for athletes, residents of Poznań and fans of one of the biggest triathlon events in Poland. It is also a natural direction for the development of an event that has become a regular part of Poznań’s sports calendar.

The Poznań event is planned for 30 August. On that day, athletes will start both the IRONMAN 70.3 distance and the Olympic distance. Both groups will finish at the stadium. The new location also means new routes. The bike course changes only slightly. The main difference is the route leading to the stadium.
However, the biggest change awaits triathletes on the final section, which is the run course. It has been designed so that athletes will enter the stadium twice. First as part of the run loop, and the second time as part of the finish.
Race packages for Enea IRONMAN 70.3 are no longer available. However, registration is still open for Enea 5150 Poznań, although only a few packages are left. Places are also available for those who want to take part in the Night Run.
This run is planned for Friday, 28 August. The night run course will also be changed. The finish line of the 5K will also be located on the pitch of Enea Stadion.
